SINGAPORE: This post came about because of a conversation we had over dinner one evening. Indian Rojak, to many of us, is a side dish. Usually, you will get a Mee Goreng and some Roti Prata with Indian Rojak to share. This leads us to wonder where the best India Rojak is in Singapore. Thus, the quest began.

Click here, in case you wonder where are our Favourite Roti Prata.

Indian Rojak is uniquely a Singapore and Malaysia dish. It is a plate of cut-up deep-fried prawn fritters, potatoes, eggs, cuttlefish, beef lung, tofu, fish cake and other items. You pick what you want, and it is then thrown into the hot oil. The dish comes with a sweet and spicy red sauce.

The best Indian Rojak has a great choice of good fritters, fresh tofu and some excellent beef lung. It must be perfectly deep-fried, crispy and crunchy on the outside; And should be accompanied with a balanced sauce, which is not too sweet, excellent level of spiciness and nuttiness from the peanuts.

After trying many stalls, we narrowed it down to these best four stalls of Indian Rojak.

Habib's Indian Rojak

Habib Indian Rojak just cannot be missed. The moment you walk into the hawker centre, you will see the perpetual queue. Standing there for a while, we have concluded that this might be the most popular stall in Ayer Rajah Food Center. You get on to the line to pick your food, and you wait in the following line to pick it up. Alternatively, they send it to your table if you are sitting nearby.

Haji Johan Indian Muslim Food / Temasek Indian Rojak

Tekka Centre is the heart of all local Indian food in Singapore. In the centre, you can find a lot of Mee Goreng stalls, Roti Prata Stalls, Indian Sweets and of course, Indian Rojak. But, of course, Temasek Indian Rojak will be one of the best around. With so many items to choose from and a sauce with the spicy level that hits the spot. We couldn't get enough of it that we went back a few times.

Al Mahboob Rojak

Al Mahboob Rojak is a restaurant located in NTUC Income at Tampines Junction. Our friend raves about it. See that it has won the Halal Award, Best Rojak of the Year 2020, given out by Halal Food Hunt. Other fans strongly agree with our friend. They took a while to serve the food, but everything is forgiven, seeing how beautifully the items are plated.

Adam's Indian Rojak

Adam's Indian Rojak claims to be the "one and only best in town". Upon trying it, I was not disappointed at all. The items are fried to perfection and come with an amazing sweet and savoury sauce. In addition, it is quite a visual treat seeing how fast the chef chops up the cucumber and onion.
