[Orignial Post] Located along Geylang Road in Singapore, which is famous for being a red-light district. One would not expect to find good Yakiniku, let alone a Yakiniku at a reasonable price. Tucked inside an unassuming coffee shop at the junction of Geylang Road and Geylang Lorong 29, you can see diners chatting loudly with bottles of Tiger Beer. These are the night owls of Singapore, from rowdy Ah Beng to sophisticated foodies. Everyone knows that Geylang has many hidden treasures, cuisines from all over Asia. You will need months to discover and try them all.
Opened by Keisuke Group, prices at Chicken Yakiniku Tori Yaro start from S$2.9. Except for beef, most plates of protein are between S$3.9 to S$5.9. You would not have expected this from a group owning more than 20 restaurants in Singapore. At this price, you might think the quality is inferior. However, this is not the case. This is restaurant food without burning a hole in your pocket.
There is always a dip for your grilled meat, and this is the first time I have seen soft-boiled egg mixed with chilli oil and oniony shallots. Just one taste of this gooey mixture, I don't even bother with the other 2 sauces. Everything we grilled is dunk into this eggy goodness.

We enjoyed all of them. Besides the standard cuts, the chicken meatballs definitely deserved a shoutout. Grilled them to get a little char, dip into the sauce and savour it.
Chicken Yakiniku Tori Yaro is one of those no-frills places for a boys' night out. Grilling meat with an ice-cold beer, spending the night away chatting and laughing about work and life!
