Sarawak Kolo Mee will satisfy all your noodle craving

Updated: May 28, 2023

SINGAPORE: One of the many reasons what makes Singapore a food paradise is you can find numerous types of noodle dishes packed on this tiny island. Without a doubt, Sarawak Kolo Mee is one of many famous noodles you have to try if you have not.

Sarawak Kolo Mee, as the name implies, originated from Sarawak, a state in Malaysia. It is often mistaken as wanton mee, but there are subtle differences between the two. Sawarak Kolo Mee is springier, and it is usually curly in Singapore, which sometimes can be mistaken for instant noodles. In Malaysia, the noodles can be straight too. The noodles are tossed in lard oil, shallot oil and dark soy sauce, topped with minced meat and some char siew. Some places will have options for you to level up the dish by having options to add braised pork ribs or braised chicken feet. Sometimes, instead of dry noodles, you can have it with curry too.

Here are our top Sarawak Kolo Mee stalls we love.
